Pedro Henrique was a gospel singer in Brazil. On Wednesday, December 13, he was in the middle of a performance at a private event in Fiera de Santana, Bahia. Suddenly, he collapsed on stage, leaning backward and falling to the ground.
In footage of the show obtained by TMZ, Henrique was interacting with fans from the stage one minute, and the next minute, he appeared to lose his balance. He fell backward and collapsed onto the floor of the stage, completely unconscious as the crowd watched in horror.
Henrique was rushed to a nearby medical clinic, and once he got there, he was pronounced dead. While an official cause of death has yet to be released, TMZ reports that according to his label, Todah Music, Henrique had a heart attack while he was performing on stage.
Henrique was only 30 years old. He is survived by his wife, Suillan Barreto, and their new baby, a daughter named Zoe.
After his death, Todah Music posted a tribute to Henrique on Instagram. The tribute pointed out both Henrique’s qualities as a talented musician as well as a family man. The post explained that Henrique “was a happy young man, a friend to everyone.” The label also remembered him as a “present husband and super dedicated father.”
Speaking to Henrique, the post continued, “The songs in your voice will not die and your legacy will remain through your wife, your little daughter Zoe and so many lives that were and will be reached by Christ through the records of your voice!”
The post also shared, “We have rejoiced so many times together, and now we weep with those who weep. The Christian music segment is in mourning. The Todah Music family is in mourning.”
