San Francisco 49ers cornerback Charvarius Ward announced the sad news about his 1-year-old daughter, Amani Joy, passing away.
“We are heartbroken that our lovely baby girl, Amani Joy passed away on Monday morning,” Ward shared in his post. “She was the greatest gift we could have wished for and her happy spirit made us smile all the time. She taught us to be patient, trustful, and to look at life positively. She showed us real strength and courage. Even at a young age she faced challenges but was always cheerful, brightening every room with her smile.
“Being her parents has changed us for the better as we got to see the world through her eyes. She will always be daddy’s best buddy and mommy’s little princess. We’ll miss you and love you forever, Amani Joy.”
Along with his Instagram post honoring his daughter, Ward also posted two stories; one had a black background saying “I’m Broken 💔💔💔💔,” while another featured sweet Amani Joy in an onesie with the words “My Baby. My Life. My Queen. My Heart. My Everything 💔💔💔💔💔.”
The 49ers expressed their sympathy too: “The 49ers family is heartbroken by the sudden loss of Charvarius Ward’s dear one-year-old daughter, Amani Joy.” Their statement continued: “Amani truly represented pure joy and brought happiness to everyone around her with her sweet nature and infectious laugh! We will keep grieving alongside Charvarius and Monique while sending them our love during this tough time.”
