The search for missing Top Chef star Naomi Pomeroy has ended in a sad way after her body was found in a river.
Reports say that the Portland chef’s remains were discovered on July 17, several days after she went missing due to a tubing accident.
The Benton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a very sad statement that Naomi had drowned. Their investigation revealed that three adults – Pomeroy, her husband Kyle Linden Webster and a friend — got tangled up while using tubes and a paddleboard that were tied together.
The report shared tragic details, explaining how Naomi was pulled under the water when they hit an “exposed snag” and couldn’t get free because of the “paddleboard leash.”
Sources mentioned that members of the Corvallis Fire Department managed to recover Webster and their friend at the shore, but they couldn’t find Pomeroy right away.
A search began, with updates from the sheriff’s office on July 17 stating that Pomeroy’s body had been located on the Willamette River about half a mile upstream from Hyak Park between Corvallis and Albany.
The office explained how people canoeing saw what looked like a body which later turned out to be Naomi’s.
At just 49 years old, she was self-taught chef who gained fame after opening her well-known Portland restaurant beast back in 2007.
Pomeroy appeared on Iron Chef as well as Top Chef Masters, plus she also guest judged on Top Chef during seasons 10, 15,and18.
Following her death,the show along with its network Bravo released this statement on X:
