We often get so wrapped up in our own problems, and the issues that fill our daily lives, that we forget there are others who face much tougher challenges than we do.
Almost everyone you encounter is dealing with some kind of struggle. Some battles are known to us, while others remain hidden. That’s why it’s crucial to be kind at all times and treat everyone with the utmost respect.
For me, this is especially true when I interact with those whose lives are made more difficult by disabilities. It’s not that they require special treatment, and I’m definitely not saying they should be pitied. No, what I mean is that they often serve as motivating examples and should be treated accordingly.
One way to show this respect is by learning about the difficulties faced by people living with different disabilities. Take the visually impaired for instance…
I can’t think of many challenges that would affect my life as much as losing my sight. Our eyes help us understand the world around us; without them we lose a sense most of us have depended on since we were born.
Yet there are people who have serious vision problems or are completely blind.
It goes without saying that for anyone living with visual impairment, getting around becomes much more challenging! This is why a new invention from an Australian company called Tec-Innovation could bring about a great change.
According to reports, they’ve developed shoes named InnoMake which use advanced sensor technology to assist wearers in avoiding obstacles they might not see clearly! The InnoMake shoes come equipped with sensors that vibrate or make sounds whenever an obstacle appears—similar to car sensors that beep when you’re close to hitting something.
Their YouTube channel mentions these shoes have special slots for sensors which can last up to a week after being charged for three hours!
Plus, these shoes can connect with smartphones allowing users to adjust settings like alert preferences or how far away obstacles need to be before detection kicks in.
Have you ever spotted someone wearing such shoes? Did you know what they’re all about? Share your thoughts in the comments!
