Tragedy in Hollywood: Beloved Actress Dies as LA Wildfires Destroy Her Home

A 95-year-old Hollywood actress was discovered dead in her home in Los Angeles after the wildfires destroyed it.

Dalyce Curry, a well-known Hollywood star, was tragically discovered dead in her Los Angeles home after succumbing to the devastating wildfires that have engulfed the county.

At around 6 p.m. on Sunday, the 95-year-old actress, who had retired from acting but is known for her iconic parts in Lady Sings the Blues (1972), The Ten Commandments (1956), and The Blues Brothers (1980), was found in her Altadena home in northeast Los Angeles.

When Curry’s family couldn’t find her at an evacuation center, she was reported missing earlier. The renowned actress was last seen on Tuesday, which was also the day that the Eaton Fire started to spread.

Curry’s granddaughter, Dalyce Kelley, confirmed in a heartbreaking Facebook post on Sunday night that the grim search was over after her grandmother’s body was found inside her house. Her fans, family, and the entertainment industry are all in mourning following the loss.

In a touching Facebook post, Kelley wrote, “With a heavy heart, I share that our search for Momma D has come to an end, as her remains were found in her home.” “We are devastated, and it’s difficult to comprehend how her life came to this end,” she said, expressing the deep sorrow her family is going through.

The circumstances surrounding Dalyce Curry

Kelley recalled the last time she saw her grandmother, who dropped her off at her home in Altadena on Tuesday at midnight. Unaware of the impending danger, Kelley left to tend to her sibling who was battling cancer, even though she could see the fire burning in the mountains.

A text message alerting Kelley to a power outage at her grandmother’s house the following morning startled her. When she hurried back to see how she was doing, an officer broke the heartbreaking news to her: the fire had completely destroyed the property. Dalyce was nowhere to be seen, but Kelley was steered to the Pasadena Civic Center, where evacuees had been moved.

As police searched for Kelley and her family for the next five days, they held onto hope. Unfortunately, when authorities found Curry’s remains in the burned-out remnants of her house, those hopes were dashed.

Her family and the entertainment industry are left with an indelible hole following the untimely death of Dalyce Curry, a cherished symbol of Hollywood’s heyday.
