Popular Rapper Nicki Minaj was arrested in Amsterdam on Saturday May 25. Better yet, she has documented it all on social media.
On Instagram, her video begins with her being led into an official government vehicle, she goes back and forth with the police officer; but, eventually enters the police vehicle. Also, she makes a request for her lawyer.
Next, the rapper is approached by an Amsterdam Schiphol Airport Employee telling her they must search all of her baggage.
The airport employee was apologetic in his tone, and this led Nicki to ask why the police didn’t search her belongings before boarding the plane. He said a quick random check was done and now they wanted to complete a comprehensive search because she “filmed” the officer, they now wanted to do a deeper search.
“First of all because you filmed him … He doesn’t believe that you don’t have more with you than you say,” the airport employee revealed.
This led to Minaj trying to defend herself. She said, “No, he asked me do I have any more in those purses and I said, ‘No,’ and I asked, ‘Where are my bags?’ They took my bags and put it on the plane before I could know what bags are on the plane.”
Minaj wrote on X, formerly called Twitter, , “now they said they found weed & that another group of ppl have to come here to weigh the pre-rolls.” “Keep in mind they took my bags without consent. My security has already advised them those pre-rolls belong to him. Oh yea & the pilot wants me to take my ig post down.”
Since Instagram Live videos are only available during the recording period, a recording is being re-shared on Instagram. This video shows airport employees telling the rapper her personal bags need to be searched and she is under arrest for soft drug possession.
Next she is led into an official government vehicle and is heard making a request for her lawyer.
This is a developing story. It is unknown if she was booked at the Amsterdam Police Station or if she will be able to make it to her next show in Manchester, England.
