A delivery driver who was questioned by law enforcement in connection with the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie has spoken publicly after being released without charges.
Nancy Guthrie, 84, the mother of Savannah Guthrie, has been missing from her Tucson home for over a week. Authorities continue to investigate her disappearance and are asking the public for help.
Driver Released Without Charges
Carlos Palazuelos, 36, said he was stopped and questioned by investigators while working deliveries on February 10. He was later released, and officials have not named him as a suspect.
Speaking to reporters outside his home, Palazuelos said he had no connection to the case and was unaware of the situation when questioned. He stated that he does not follow the news closely and had not heard of the missing person before being approached by investigators.
He also shared concerns about how the questioning was handled, saying he was confused about why he was being detained. Authorities have not publicly commented on the specifics of his claims.
Delivery Company Responds
DoorDash confirmed it is cooperating with law enforcement after learning that a driver may have been questioned as part of the investigation.
In a statement, the company said it is prepared to assist authorities and expressed sympathy for the Guthrie family during the ongoing search.
Palazuelos reportedly told investigators he may have made a delivery to the neighborhood around the time Nancy Guthrie was last seen, but he emphasized that he had no further involvement.
Investigation Ongoing
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has continued to release updates and recently shared images of an individual appearing to tamper with a doorbell camera at the home around the time of the disappearance.
FBI Director Kash Patel said the images were recovered through technical methods and may help generate new leads.
Authorities have also acknowledged receiving reports of ransom demands, though details remain limited and investigators have not confirmed their authenticity.
Public Asked to Help
Savannah Guthrie has urged anyone with credible information to contact law enforcement, saying the family remains hopeful.
Officials continue to stress that no conclusions should be drawn while the investigation is active. Community tips, they say, remain one of the most valuable resources in missing-person cases.
Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact the FBI tip line or local authorities.
