Savannah Guthrie continues to appeal for help in the search for her mother, Nancy Guthrie, who has been missing for more than two weeks from her home near Tucson, Arizona. Authorities say the investigation remains active, with hundreds of leads still being reviewed.
Ongoing Investigation
Law enforcement has been following several pieces of evidence, including footage from a home security camera that showed a masked individual near Nancy Guthrie’s residence. Investigators also recovered a glove a few miles away that they believe could be connected to the case.
According to reports, DNA from the glove did not produce a match in the FBI’s CODIS database. Officials have indicated they may use additional genealogy databases as part of the investigation. Other evidence collected from the home is also undergoing analysis.
Chris Nanos, the Pima County Sheriff, said the case is not considered cold as long as leads remain.
“As long as we have the ability to chase a lead, it’s not cold,” Nanos said. “We’re not going to give up.”
He added that investigators are treating the situation as a rescue effort and remain hopeful.
Savannah Guthrie’s Public Appeal
Savannah Guthrie, co-host of Today, has stepped away from her regular duties to support her family. She recently shared a video message asking anyone with information to come forward.
In her message, she encouraged compassion and urged whoever may know something to do the right thing. The video reflected the emotional toll the situation has taken on the family.
Support From Colleagues and Friends
Guthrie has received support from colleagues and friends. Hoda Kotb shared a message of encouragement on social media, and fellow Today colleagues Dylan Dreyer and Morgan Radford also expressed support.
Sources close to Guthrie told media outlets that friends are concerned about how difficult this time has been for her, though they emphasized that she continues to focus on her family and the search efforts.
A Community Effort
Authorities say hundreds of investigators and volunteers are working through thousands of tips. A reward remains in place for information that could help locate Nancy Guthrie.
For now, officials and family members continue to ask the public to share any relevant information with local law enforcement.
