After 72 surgeries, he had one last strange request – but the doctor said ‘I can’t do it’ and refused the operation

It’s common to hear about individuals getting cosmetic surgery to alter features like their nose, breasts, or lips, or just to enhance their facial glow.

But Jessica Alves, who was once known as Rodrigo Alves, took this to a whole new level by changing her appearance into that of a human Barbie doll.

Feeling unhappy with how you look is totally normal. Whatever path you choose, always keep in mind that you are beautiful and can do amazing things no matter what others think.

While some people choose plastic surgery for specific changes in their looks, Jessica Alves completely changed her entire appearance.

Jessica Alves – Transition

Let’s dive into Jessica’s story. In an early 2020 interview with The Mirror, she revealed she was transgender.

“I’m known as Ken, but inside I’ve always felt like Barbie,” the now 36-year-old shared. “I finally feel like the real me. Glamorous and feminine.”

From then on, she goes by Roddy and uses “she” and “her” pronouns.

Came Out as Transgender

Jessica got hormone treatments to make her hips more feminine. Along with blonde hair extensions and fake eyelashes, she also wears a D-cup bra now too! She announced in July that she’d be called Jessica.

“For years I tried living my life as a man. I had fake muscles put in my arms, but I was lying to myself,” she explained. “I’m a woman at heart.”

Over the years, Jessica appeared on Celebrity Big Brother back in 2018; last year she released a song with Italian surgeon Giacomo Urtis called Plastic World! Plus, she’s got over one million followers on Instagram and used to work as an air hostess.

Jessica Alves – Childhood

Born on July 30, 1983, in São Paulo, Brazil, to a British father and Brazilian mother, Jessica (formerly Rodrigo) had dolls bought for her by her grandfather when she was young, so she could dress them however she liked!

Some would say a good idea for any child is not having to fit into norms set by society but rather doing what feels right.

This led to Alves’ obsession with dolls, which showed through clearly!

“Growing up, I was very girly and played with dolls while wearing my mum’s dresses,” she said, adding that during her teenage years, she hated how she looked.

“I liked laughing, but it made my nose wide, which bothered me.” Family members often wondered where such an “ugly” feature came from, which pushed her towards fixing it first.

To study at the London School of Economics, she moved there. In 2004, she decided on plastic surgery for the first time, starting an addiction towards altering herself.

“I never felt satisfied after surgeries!” said Jessica.

Dangerous infection

Doctorn wa:rned that the infection could eat through her nose and into her face. Her face could become gangrenous.

“I can’t breathe through my nose and feel terrible. It has collapsed. I have been given an appointment with a consultant in London in six weeks time and then I’m hoping surgery can be as soon as possible after that,” Jessica Alves said.

Two years ago, she underwent a chemical peel, involving applying an acid-containing lotion to the face in Spain, according to Daily Mail. After letting it soak through, she was going to peel off the old skin to reveal the fresh skin in place.

However, it was not a pleasant experience.

“It was fairly painful, and my face looks red now. It feels like burning, she said. Here in Marbella is very sunny and I can’t go out for the next few days unless I have a lot of sun protection.

Though Jessica made it out of two scary scenarios, in 2019, following her 11th rhinoplasty. the nose started to collapse. The last surgery was supposed to fix a previous botox procedure.

Jessica Alves – Surgeries

Now, two decades later, she has undergone over a hundred operations!

She has had nose jobs, pec implants, Botox, filler injections, liposuction, jaw shaping, calf shaping, hair transplants, a fake six-pack, and filler injections for arms too! She even removed four ribs and got cat-eye lifts done.

In total, Jessica spent more than half a million dollars on these procedures! Her classmates barely recognized her anymore, showing signs of morphodysphoria—a condition where someone sees themselves differently than they really are.

Initially wanting to become a male version of Ken, she is now aiming to be a Human Barbie.

However, Jessica’s journey hasn’t been without risks. She was hospitalized back in April 2016 due to necrosis, meaning her skin started dying off!

A hole formed around her nose while the septum loosened, causing breathing issues and leading to a hospital visit in Malaga, Spain.

According to Daily Mail, she received antibiotics every eight hours via IV drip.

Doctors warned that the infection could eat through her face, causing gangrene!

“I can’t breathe through my nose,” said Jessica. “It’s collapsed. I have an appointment with a consultant in London soon, hoping a fix can happen quickly.”

Two years ago, after her 11th rhinoplasty, her nose began collapsing again, and the last operation was meant to fix a previous Botox issue.

From Rodrigo to Jessica Alves

“The results were great initially, but now I need another surgery because it’s sinking!” she admitted worriedly. “Each time gets riskier, and I’m scared doctors won’t permanently fix this.”

Over time, she gained recognition worldwide due to her looks. Despite mixed opinions about her body changes, the most important thing is feeling comfortable within oneself.

She always believed female tendencies existed inside until last year, when during a photoshoot, she made the decision to transition finally!

“In a month, I was diagnosed with gender dysmorphic disorder and given the option to start medication to transition,” she told the NY Post in January. “Before, people saw me looking weird; now I hope they see a beautiful woman.”

Not Done Yet

She had her Adam’s apple removed along with her six-pack plus breast enlargement, knee, hip, and foot injections, costing around $35,000 in total!

Jessica also underwent facial feminization surgeries alongside hormone treatments.

In July, she explained on the British show This Morning that she still needed a couple of things to finish the transitioning process, saying:

“I still need a few more surgeries, then I swear I’m done forever!” she stated firmly. “There’s only so much one can handle; each surgical trip scares me, yet it’s necessary to become who I am!”

The last remaining operations needed to complete her transformation include penile inversion and testicles removal.

“I love everything involved—getting my nails, eyebrows, and lashes done, shopping for dresses, heels, and sexy lingerie!” Roddy, living in London, expressed joyfully!

New Nose Job

She had multiple nasal procedures across Brazil, Iran, America, Colombia, and Istanbul, recently facing breathing troubles that needed additional operation again.

Many doctors refused to help, unsure of what to do until she found a doctor in Istanbul who used cartilage from her ear, allowing her to breathe normally once more!

On her Instagram page, she shares moments throughout her journey, showing happiness despite the challenges faced, ultimately the most important thing!

Fast-forwarding into 2024 shows the TV personality hasn’t given up her quest to enhance herself further!

According to Daily Mail, the 41-year-old left a Turkish hospital in October covered in bandages post-fifth facelift, explaining that dissolving dermal fillers resulted in loose skin needing a ponytail facelift procedure, tightening her face and neck area using staples at her hairline.

Seen in a wheelchair with a headscarf, assisted to a car afterward, images went viral, shocking many viewers!

“If I pinch myself, three or four inches come off my hand—it’s elastic, like rubber, allowing the doctor to remove five inches of excess skin!” she exclaimed excitedly!
