You could say it was bound to happen, since gathering millions of individuals in one spot and allowing them to share their opinions and feelings—no matter how different they are—was always going to spark heated discussions.
Images and videos that divide opinions have become standard on the internet, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t worth checking out whenever they appear. So when we stumbled upon a photo of a dad with his sleeping daughter on an airplane—a picture that has sparked tons of comments—we just had to share it…
The discussion began when Reddit user u/therra123 posted a touching moment between a father and his little girl in the r/MadeMeSmile thread.
The user shared an image showing a girl curled up in her aisle seat during the flight. Instead of resting her head on the armrest—a pretty hard and uncomfortable pillow, as anyone who has used one will agree—her dad had placed his hand under her cheek instead.
The caption on Reddit says: “This man kept his hand in this position for 45 minutes so his daughter could sleep well.”
At this point, we must say that this seems like just a dad doing what he should do. The post was tagged “wholesome moments,” but not everyone felt that way.
Surprisingly, some criticized the father for what he did, with some commenters suggesting he could have done better.
The post quickly went viral with around 60,000 upvotes and thousands of replies like:
“I feel like… I feel like there’s a better way.”
Another person added: “Do you not have your towel? A towel is the most important thing you can carry.”
A third commenter said: “Shows a clear lack of creative problem solving. 45 min you say and couldn’t think of something practical? Huh!”
While another wrote: “Seriously! Roll up your hoodie jacket and bam! Insta-pillow or here’s an idea: ask a flight attendant for a blanket or pillow.”
Others were more understanding towards the father’s actions too! Coincidentally enough that’s where we stand as well!
