Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
The sad news was shared by Phil’s son, Jase Robertson, during Friday’s episode of the Unashamed with the Robertson Family podcast.
“Phil’s not doing well. I think I spoke on the 1000th podcast, we were trying to figure out the diagnosis, but according to the doctors, he has some sort of blood disease causing all kinds of problems,” Jase said.
“It’s like accelerated, and it’s causing problems with his entire body. And he has early stages of Alzheimers. So, if you put those things together, he’s really not doing well. He’s struggling,” he added.
Phil is no longer able to play a large role in the “Unashamed” podcast because of his latest health challenges. He can no longer sit still and engage in conversation and he is finding walking to be painful.
The Unashamed with the Robertson Family podcast episode featured Phil Robertson, his sons Jase and Alan, and his nephew, Zach Dasher.
Jase said that Phil’s doctors said there is no cure and the family is working to make things more comfortable for Phil.
