Contrary to popular belief, Elon Musk is not the ‘father’ or creator of Tesla. That title belongs to Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning. The internet billionaire made a big investment in the company and serves as CEO, which leads to this misunderstanding. However, the 52-year-old is indeed a real father who recently welcomed his 12th child into the world.
Elon Musk’s 12th Kid
Elon Musk has many kids, and he tries to keep them away from media attention as much as he can. Because of this, many were shocked when they found out he secretly had his 12th kid earlier this year. Still, the child’s gender and name remain unknown to everyone.
Elon Musk Keeps Kids Out of Sight
Even though he’s known for keeping his personal life private, Elon Musk has said that there’s no plan for secrecy. “As for ‘secretly fathered,’ that is also false,” Elon stated. “All our friends and family know about it. Not sending out a press release—which would be strange—doesn’t mean it’s ‘secret.’”
Elon Musk and Neuralink Worker
The mother of the child is Shivon Zilis, who works as director of special projects at Neuralink Corp. While Musk isn’t the founder of Tesla, he did start Neuralink on June 21, 2016. This neurotechnology company focuses on “implantable brain-computer interfaces” and put in its first “neural chip” earlier this year; however it didn’t work well so they still have some problems to fix.
Elon Musk’s Path into Fatherhood
Meanwhile, Musk enjoys a quiet life away from cameras with his children. His journey into parenting began in 2002 but sadly started with tragedy when his first son Nevada Alexander passed away from SIDS at just ten weeks old. Although he faced great loss with ex-wife Justine Wilson, they later had twins two years after that sad event and eventually had more kids with Canadian singer Claire Elise Boucher—better known as GRIMES.
Making News Again
In 2021, Elon Musk along with Shivon Zilis welcomed twins Azure and Strider into their family too! He has also had several children through IVF or surrogacy methods! Interestingly enough he’s often in headlines because of his odd interest in letters instead of names; plus there’s always talk about how he seems eager to play around with money—and most recently being an “advisor” for Donald Trump! People are even curious if he’s trying to compete against Nick Cannon for having the most kids!
“Elon vs Nick Cannon?” I joked one time online.
“Nick you got just 24 hours to reply!” another user commented.
