I found strange little reddish balls on an old sweater and almost threw up when I realized what it was.

I took the sweaters out of the closet and noticed strange little red oval balls on one of them. 😲 They were unpleasant to the touch and smelled bad 🤔.

It’s been a long time since I’ve taken out my old winter sweaters. They sat in the back of the closet for several years because the last winters were mild and fashion had changed.

But lately, I’ve been wanting to organize my wardrobe and donate these clothes in good condition, almost new, to charity.

I pulled out a stack of sweaters and looked at them – everything looked perfect, no holes, no stains. I decided to wash them before giving them away and suddenly I noticed strange little red oval balls on one of the sweaters.

At first, I thought it could be berries or seeds that the kids brought back one day, or something that fell from above. But they were unpleasant to the touch, like small pebbles, and the smell was quite strong.

Curiosity got the better of disgust and I searched the internet to find out what it could be. When I found the answer, I felt my heart stop.
These strange “balls” turned out to be mouse droppings – colored red because of a poison that I had placed in a cupboard myself a few years ago and had completely forgotten!

I almost threw up just thinking about how these things had been sitting there the whole time in the middle of a mouse infestation. I immediately threw away not only the sweaters, but also the old scarves that were next to them.

I had to clean the entire closet with soap and sanitizer and then wash it a few times until the smell went away.
