Meghan Markle Makes Heartbreaking Baby Announcement

Meghan Markle has shared some devastating baby news.

The Duchess of Sussex opened up about her personal life in candid detail in an episode of her new podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder.

After hearing the rare comments on a painful chapter of Markle’s life, people have taken to social media and shared their support.

One social media user said: “Be kind to everyone. No one knows the things they are dealing with, ever.”

A second wrote: “You stay strong, Meghan.”

“It’s very brave of you, Meghan, to talk about,” commented someone else. “Thank you.”

A fourth penned: “Meghan is really strong. Thanks for speaking out.”

In a 2020 essay for The New York Times, Markle revealed that she lost her second child after feeling a ‘sharp cramp’ while changing her son Archie‘s diaper in July that year.

She recalled feeling ill at their Los Angeles home before going to the hospital.

The Duchess approached the topic on her podcast with Girls Who Code founder Reshma Saujani, who has also suffered miscarriages.

Markle said: “I’ve spoken about the miscarriage that we experienced, and I think in some parallel way, you have to learn to detach from the thing that you have so much promise and hope for, and to be able to be okay at a certain point to let something go, something that you planned to love for a long time.”

After hearing Markle’s viewpoint, Saujani responded: “I feel like you’re reading my diary, that’s really insightful.”

Prince Harry also spoke of the miscarriage in his memoir ‘Spare.’

He said he and Markle ‘both wept’ and that he ‘felt totally hopeless’ as they left the hospital with their ‘unborn child.’

“A tiny package,” Prince Harry penned. “We went to a place, a secret place only we knew.

“Under a spreading banyan tree, while Meg wept, I dug a hole with my hands and set the tiny package softly in the ground.”

Markle’s discussion of this difficult period comes following the first episode of her podcast, in which she revealed she experienced a ‘huge medical scare‘ after giving birth.

The Duchess and her podcast guest, Whitney Wolfe Herd, the founder of the dating app Bumble, spoke of their ‘very similar experiences’ with postpartum preeclampsia.

“Postpartum preeclampsia is a rare condition that occurs when you have high blood pressure and excess protein in your urine soon after childbirth,” explains Mayo Clinic.

The condition requires prompt treatment. If left untreated, it can cause seizures and other serious complications.

“The world doesn’t know what’s happening quietly,” Markle said. “And in the quiet, you’re still trying to show up for people – mostly for your children – but those things are huge medical scares.”
