An Italian, a Scotsman, and a Chinese man are working at a construction site. The foreman points to a big heap of sand.
He tells the Italian, “You’re responsible for sweeping.”
To the Scotsman he says, “You’re responsible for shoveling.”
And to the Chinese guy, “You’re in charge of supplies.”
Then he adds, “I need to step away for a bit. I expect you guys to make some progress on that sand pile.”
When the foreman comes back after a few hours, the sand pile is still there.
He asks the Italian, “Why didn’t you sweep any?”
The Italian answers, “I no have no broom. You tolda that Chinese fella he was in charge of supplies but he has disappeared and I can’t find him anywhere.”
Next, the foreman turns to the Scotsman and says “And you! I thought I told ya to shovel this pile.”
The Scotsman replies, “Aye that ye did laddie but ah couldn’t get meself a shoovel. Ye left th’ Chinese guy in charge of supplies but ah couldn’t find him either.”
Now really mad, the foreman storms over toward the sand pile looking for the Chinese man.
Suddenly, out from behind it jumps the Chinese guy yelling “SUPPLIES!”
