I had my baby girl Sarah 5 weeks ago. She has blonde hair and blue eyes, while both my husband and I have brown hair and brown eyes.
My husband, Alex, totally freaked out about this. He wanted a paternity test and went to stay with his parents for weeks.
My mother-in-law, Mrs. Johnson, warned me that if the test showed the baby wasn’t her son’s, she would do anything to make sure I was “taken to the cleaners” during our divorce.
Yesterday we got the results. Alex came to our door looking messy and regretful. I let him in, and we sat down where we had read the test results before.
He looked at Sarah sleeping peacefully in my arms; his expression softened.
I said firmly, “Alex, you didn’t just doubt me; you embarrassed me. You left me alone; you accused me of cheating; your mom even threatened me! I don’t know if things can ever be like they were.”
He nodded slowly. “I get it. And I’ll do whatever is needed to fix this. I don’t expect your forgiveness right away but please give me a chance for Sarah’s sake—and ours.”
I could see he felt sorry for what happened. Part of me wanted to slam the door on him forever so that I wouldn’t get hurt again but another part remembered all the love we shared over two years and wanted to give him a chance.
For a moment, I let go of my anger and pain.
“I’m not sure how to trust you now,” I finally said. “But for Sarah’s sake—I’ll try.”
He took my hand gently saying “Thank you Jenn! I’ll do everything possible to earn back your trust! My love for both of you is stronger than anything.”
That night while he was asleep,I unlocked his phone & found something shocking—messages between him & a female coworker!
In those texts he said he’d leave me soon for her which made it clear there was no going back for us.I took screenshots & called a lawyer first thing in morning after Alex left for work.I filed for divorce right away!
By evening when he returned home,I was already gone staying with my sister Emily during all these divorce proceedings.Alex tried denying cheating but i had proof.In settlement,I got our house,the car,and good child support too!
