Passenger Trapped In Airplane Bathroom For Entire Flight Gets Note From Attendant

Recently, a flight of SpiceJet turned into a nightmare for one passenger who was unlucky to end up getting stuck in the bathroom for most of the journey.

This incident occurred on January 16, on Flight SG-268.

The flight departed from Mumbai at 2 AM local time, heading towards Bengaluru, according to the Indian Express.

Seated at 14D, the passenger headed to the restroom right after the seatbelt sign lit up.

What was expected to be a routine visit turned into a horrifying ordeal when the bathroom door jammed, trapping him inside.

“A passenger unfortunately got stuck inside the lavatory for about an hour.”, the airline later stated.

This meant the passenger was forced to endure being in the cramped toilet space even during the plane’s landing at Kempegowda International Airport.

Panicked, the passenger received some reassurance from the flight attendants who slid a note under the door.

This note has since gained significant attention online because of the entire ordeal.

The note read, “Sir we tried our best to open the door, however, we could not. Do not panic.

“We are landing in a few minutes, so please close the commode lid and sit on it and secure yourself. As soon as the main door is open, an engineer will come. Do not panic.”

Once freed, the passenger was given immediate medical attention to recover from the traumatic experience.

After the incident, which attracted global media attention, the airline extended a gesture of goodwill.

“SpiceJet regrets and apologizes for the inconvenience caused to the passenger,” the airline expressed in a formal statement.

Apart from the apology, the passenger was offered a full refund as a compensation for the ordeal endured.
