Rod Stewart is famous for his raspy voice, full head of hair, and amazing concerts.
However, the iconic rock star has some unfortunate news for all his supporters.
Rod Stewart, the legendary musician known for songs like “Forever Young” and “Maggie May,” has announced that his upcoming tour, One Last Time, will be his last major world tour.
On Wednesday, Nov. 20, the 79-year-old star took to Instagram to share this heartfelt decision with his fans.
In good shape and his iconic hair is still there
“This is the end of big world tours for me,” he wrote. “But don’t worry; I’m not quitting. I still enjoy what I do. It’s just time to perform in smaller, more personal venues.”
The rock star mentioned that even though he’s in good health and has a full head of hair, he thinks it’s time to step back from the tiring lifestyle of large concerts.
“I’m fit, have a full head of hair and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at my jolly old age of 79,” the rocker posted on Instagram.
For fans who’ve followed Stewart over the years, this news feels like an ending to an era. His One Last Time tour will mark the final chapter of his unforgettable performances in huge arenas where his unique voice and rock star charm have thrilled audiences for years.
He’s ready for something new
Known for being incredibly versatile, Stewart has been a steady figure in music across genres from rock to soul and RandB. From popular songs in the 70s like “Do You Think I’m Sexy?” to more recent works like Swing Fever, he’s always changing as an artist.
While Stewart says this isn’t really goodbye musically speaking; it seems clear he wants something different.
“I’d love to move onto a Great American Songbook or Swing Fever tour next year — smaller places with more closeness,” he wrote.
But then again; Rock & Roll Hall of Famer also left things uncertain by jokingly saying “But then again; I may not…” before signing off as “The Ambiguous Sir Rod Stewart.”
Rod Stewart’s One Last Time tour will travel through U.S.A. and Canada with 20 new shows starting in March at Austin Texas & finishing up St Louis in August! While he’s looking forward to slowing down; fans can still expect one last chance to see him perform live up close!
