Tragic Crash Claims Woman’s Life Moments After She Posts on Facebook

There are certain lessons that I believe we, as a community, should always keep promoting, no matter how many ‍times they’ve been shared.

You know the kind of lessons I’m⁤ referring to. I mean things like the significance of treating everyone fairly, or‌ how⁢ vital it is for‌ our kids to get a good education, or⁤ the rules ⁤and mistakes to avoid when ⁣using heavy equipment, like driving a car.

These‌ are all ideas ⁢we’ve learned repeatedly, but it’s always helpful⁣ to remind ourselves. ⁢For instance, let’s consider the last topic ‌mentioned.

I ⁣hope that all of you understand how risky it can be to drive without full attention and care especially with so many scary stories‍ we ‍hear these days.

And while you’ve probably heard your share of stories ⁤about accidents caused ⁢by careless driving, ⁣you might not have come across one quite like ⁤this.

This incident ⁢happened ten ⁤years ago in 2014 but here at Newsner⁣ we think its message is just as crucial today.

It involves a woman who tragically lost her ⁢life in a head-on⁣ crash on an American highway just moments after she had posted selfies and updated her Facebook while behind the wheel.

According ⁤to The Independent, 32-year-old Courtney Sanford posted on Facebook at 8:33am on Thursday April‌ 24th saying: “The happy song makes me so HAPPY.

Reportedly police were called about an accident at 8:34am.

Authorities explained ‌that Courtney was alone in her vehicle when it crossed over‌ into oncoming traffic before hitting a⁣ recycling truck and catching fire.

Police confirmed there was no sign of alcohol or drugs being involved nor speeding in this tragic crash but Lt Chris Weisner from High Point Police Department said ‍this incident serves as a warning for “showing⁢ what happens when you text and drive”.

“In seconds, a life ended just because‌ she wanted ⁤to tell some‍ friends she was happy. It’s really not worth it,” Weisner stated.

“As ⁢sad‌ as⁣ this is it’s also⁢ an important reminder for everyone…‍ you must stay focused while driving.”

The driver of the recycling truck John‌ Wallace Thompson aged 73 ⁤walked away from the accident without injuries.

This heartbreaking story should remind ⁣us all that nothing ⁣positive‌ comes from distracted driving.
