Why You Shouldn’t Scare Off This Animal If You Spot It in Your Home

Reasons to Keep House⁤ Geckos and Lizards Around

Some creatures have amazing abilities — and geckos are a great example! With their sticky toes that help them stick to walls and ceilings, plus their incredible night vision, ‌they’re pretty cool. When people spot geckos in their gardens, many want to get ‍rid⁣ of them right away. Here are 5‍ reasons you should ⁣think twice⁢ before doing that.

Many people think all reptiles are dangerous. However, some types can actually be helpful — like house⁤ geckos. They munch on pests that can be harmful like cockroaches, moths, flies spiders⁢ termites and wasps.

If geckos are in your garden it‍ likely ⁤means it’s clean.

If these reptiles show up at your⁣ place — it’s a good sign! It means your garden is friendly for the environment. Many bugs can become resistant to pesticides⁢ so they might not leave or ⁣come back quickly after the⁢ chemicals fade away. ⁢So letting the⁣ geckos handle pest control is ⁤a more natural solution.

Geckos won’t eat your plants unlike birds.

These quick little guys⁣ won’t touch any fruits or veggies⁢ in your garden unlike birds who also eat pests but love snacking on berries or ⁣other crops you may have planted. Birds might seem cute ⁢but they⁣ can ‍destroy an entire harvest while ⁢lizards help protect it instead.

They aren’t harmful to humans.

It may look like‍ geckos have superpowers since they⁣ crawl on ceilings and make strange sounds ⁣at night but they’re really not⁣ scary at all! Common house gecko’s aren’t venomous⁤ &⁢ don’t pose any danger to people (though they might bite if scared), plus they help by eating pests around homes.

Gecko’s‌ could carry salmonella which is easy enough to avoid.

Like ⁣many other reptiles ,gecko’s can ⁣spread salmonella ⁢. But this ‌isn’t through biting;⁣ it’s from their droppings . So if you see ‍any poop from a geco , just wash ⁢it off well & ⁤remember not to kiss them (or cats dogs etc.).
