Homemade Electrolyte Drink with Orange and Honey

Homemade Electrolyte Drink with Orange and Honey

This Homemade Electrolyte Drink with Orange and Honey is a simple, refreshing drink made with water, orange juice, honey, pink salt, and coconut water powder. It is a great option when you want a light homemade hydration drink with a natural citrus flavor.

The orange juice adds brightness, honey gives gentle sweetness, and pink salt helps create a balanced electrolyte-style drink. It is quick to prepare and can be served chilled over ice.

Ingredients

  • 24 ounces water
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice, preferably fresh
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ¼ teaspoon pink salt
  • ¼ teaspoon coconut water powder
  • Ice, optional

Instructions

Step 1: Add the Water

Pour 24 ounces of water into a large jar, bottle, or pitcher.

Step 2: Add the Orange Juice

Add the orange juice to the water. Fresh orange juice gives the best flavor, but bottled orange juice can also be used.

Step 3: Sweeten with Honey

Add the honey and stir well. If your honey is thick, you can mix it first with a few tablespoons of warm water to help it dissolve more easily.

Step 4: Add Pink Salt and Coconut Water Powder

Stir in the pink salt and coconut water powder. Mix until everything is fully dissolved.

Step 5: Chill and Serve

Refrigerate for at least 20–30 minutes, or serve immediately over ice. Shake or stir again before drinking.

Tips for Best Flavor

For a stronger citrus taste, add a little extra orange juice or a squeeze of lemon. If you prefer a sweeter drink, add another teaspoon of honey. Always mix well before serving because natural ingredients may settle at the bottom.

Optional Add-Ins

You can add a squeeze of lemon juice, a few slices of fresh orange, or a small pinch of ginger for extra flavor. For a cooler summer drink, serve it with ice and fresh mint.

Important Note

This drink can be enjoyed as part of a balanced diet and may help support hydration. It is not meant to replace medical treatment or oral rehydration solutions for illness, dehydration, or heavy fluid loss. If you have kidney problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, or follow a sodium-restricted diet, consult a healthcare professional before using electrolyte drinks regularly.
