I’m Being Thrown Out of My Own House by My DIL

When my only son got married, I invited him and his wife to move in with me because my house is spacious, and I live alone. My daughter-in-law, Meredith, was thrilled.

However, after 4 years and 3 children, my daughter-in-law no longer wants me there, because the place is “too crowded”.

Additionally, she is pregnant again and with another baby on the way, they plan to allocate my room to the new baby. She has arranged for me to move into a small studio apartment not far from the house, and she has offered to cover the rent.

When I refused to leave my home, my son revealed, “All this time, we’ve silently felt uncomfortable, Mom, because we haven’t had as much privacy as a new couple would need.”

I stood my ground, saying that this has been my house for the past 43 years and I won’t leave it. But my son declared, “If you don’t move out now, Mom, then we will, and you won’t see your grandkids anymore.”

I’m devastated, feeling like my heart has been crushed and my reality shattered. What should I do?
