‘Line Of Duty’ And ‘Outlander’ Actor Has Passed Away

Scottish actor Brian McCardie, known for his roles in popular TV series like “Outlander” and “Line of Duty,” has tragically passed away at the age of 59.

According to his sister, Sarah McCardie, Brian passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, April 28. The cause of his death has not been disclosed publicly.

Sarah took to social media to share the heartbreaking news, writing, “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian James McCardie (59), beloved son, brother, uncle, and dear friend to so many.” She described Brian as a “wonderful and passionate actor on stage and screen” whose work touched many lives.

“We love him and will miss him greatly,” she added, asking for privacy for the family during this difficult time.

McCardie, a native of Glasgow, Scotland, was recognized for his role as Sir Marcus MacRannoch in an episode of the hit series “Outlander” in 2015. He also portrayed crime lord Tommy Hunter in the acclaimed British police procedural “Line of Duty,” appearing in three episodes in 2012 and 2014.

In addition to his notable roles in “Outlander” and “Line of Duty,” McCardie had an extensive list of TV credits, including appearances in “Time,” “Rebellion,” “M.I. High,” “Fortitude,” “Crime,” “The Last Czars,” and “Murder is Easy,” among others.

McCardie was also working on Starz’s new “Outlander” prequel, “Blood of My Blood,” which is currently in production.

His talent agency, United Agency, expressed shock and sadness at the news of McCardie’s passing, describing him as an actor of great talent. They extended their thoughts to his family and friends during this difficult time.

The sudden loss of McCardie has left fans and colleagues in mourning, with many remembering him for his contributions to the entertainment industry and his memorable performances on screen.
