Sir Elton John, 76, raises his two sons not to be spoiled as they already do chores for some pocket money

Sir Elton John and his husband, David Furnish, have been together for over two decades and share two sons, Zachary and Elijah. Despite his thriving music career with 32 albums, Sir Elton John, at 73, now prioritizes his family life.

Their romance began in 1993 when John met Furnish at a dinner party. An instant connection led to their first date the next day, starting their long-term relationship. They entered a civil partnership for nine years before marrying in 2014, with their sons serving as ring bearers.

John and Furnish’s journey to parenthood started with a failed attempt to adopt a Ukrainian boy named Lev in 2009. This experience revealed John’s desire to be a father, and they welcomed Zachary in 2010 and Elijah in 2013 via surrogate.

Committed to raising their children themselves, John and Furnish avoid relying on nannies and housekeepers. They aim to teach their sons the value of money and humility, despite their comfortable life. John doesn’t plan to leave his entire estate to his sons to ensure they remain grounded.

The boys receive pocket money from chores, emphasizing the importance of earning and managing money. John and Furnish strive to give their children a normal childhood, taking them out for pizza and movies and involving them in everyday activities.

John often shares glimpses of their family life, like a rare photo with their godmother, Lady Gaga. Fans noted how much Zachary and Elijah have grown.

John expressed his love for his sons in a heartfelt letter, calling them the greatest gifts and highlighting how they’ve filled his life with love and purpose. John and Furnish are dedicated to raising their sons with love and support.
